There must be more…

Hello Fellow Readers,

The Press publishes a New Year’s pictorial issue to provide their staff with a week off between Christmas and New Year’s. I’ll admit I enjoyed the deadline respite too but wish to reach out to my faithful online followers – thank you for being so!

As I write I am recovering from a heavy cold with fever that flew through our house just before Christmas. Over a week seems too long, the newest symptom laryngitis, so off to the doctor I go; though maybe Curt is enjoying the silence (smile). Being sick forces you to slow down. A time to reflect and relish the gift of good health.

This photo was taken outside of Karen Ann Quinlan Home for Hospice in Fredon NJ, after a weekly visit last March. It’s a privilege to share music during a sacred time with families there, yet when I left that day, I was feeling unsure about my service. This magical scene gave me reassurance that there must be more than this. And while we are here, let us share Love.

Wishing you and your loved ones a joyous, healthy, and peaceful New Year.

Mary Stone, owner of Stone Associates Landscape Design & Consulting. As a Landscape Designer, I am grateful for the joy of helping others beautify their surroundings which often leads to sharing encouragement and life experiences. These relationships inspired my weekly column published in THE PRESS, 'Garden Dilemmas? Ask Mary', began in 2012. I dream of growing the evolving community of readers into an interactive forum to share encouragement and support in Garden and Personal Recoveries - seeking nature’s inspirations, stimulating growth, weeding undesirables, embracing the unexpected. Thank you for visiting! Mary
