This photo entitled ‘Hope’ was as a holiday greeting to cherished colleagues and clients this year. But when I took the photo, only a few weeks after the passing of my beloved brother Bill, I didn’t think of the scene as Hope. True, the beauty of the long shadows ensued by the gleam of the sun just after a winter storm took my breath away. About a year later, I realize the moment of glory was indeed a vison of Hope. Now, rather than focus on the loss, I relish what once was. And the shadow of my dear brother’s spirit and love forever surrounds me.
One of my colleagues, the gal that built this website who herself lost a sibling way too early, suggested I frame the picture. It never occurred to me. But I will. Then hang it in front of my writing spot so that I will never forget that even during the roughest times, there is always Hope.
Happy New Year … and Hope to all!
